PICO Cyberdeck Keyboard

by CrazyRobMiles · Hard

A compact Raspberry Pi Pico keyboard platform with generated layouts, a custom matrix PCB, CircuitPython or MicroPython firmware and a parametric printable case.

CrazyRobMiles built this project as a reusable keyboard generator for cyberdeck controls rather than one fixed layout. Python tools turn a JSON key arrangement into KiCad fabrication data and a matching FreeCAD enclosure, while the supplied firmware scans the diode-protected key matrix over USB HID.

Notes

Verified against the official README, Cyberdeck40 layout, generator sources, firmware and MIT license at commit 7e241112651d344c8d3db79498c566144963f8a6 on 2026-10-31. The README identifies the required Pico, exact switch model, diode package, generated PCB, USB cable and four M2×14 mm self-tapping screws; the linked Cyberdeck40 layout has 45 keys, so it requires 45 switches and 45 diodes. Brand-neutral cable and screw details do not block verification because the creator specifies their functional connector and dimensions.
